recreation center where the 30th annual bea gaddy thanksgiving dinner will take place. if everyone remembers, bea gaddy was huge advocate for the homeless and those in need and made sure everybody had a hotplate. her daughter sandra is joining us. tell me how the morning is shaping up. >> turning out to be a blessed morning this morning. and we are so happy to and volume up tiers are coming and we have work. >> reporter: you have volunteers like mary ann who this is your 10th year? >> yes. >> reporter: what motivates you to come out today. >> gratitude. gratitude in helping others. that's the best service. >> reporter: what are you going to be doing? >> a little bit of everything. wherever they need me. >> reporter: and you brought your sister her first year how. do you feel being out here and why do you yo many could out this morning. >> i feel great. it's a beautiful fall morning. i actually don't have a lot of fanly -- family in the area and didn't have a lot of plans and she invited sighted me out --

it's 6:45. time for abc2 news to go. i am charley crowson and a happy thanksgiving. a lot going on on this thursday morning. corinne is live with the 30th annual bea gaddy thanksgiving different. linda so in white marsh with black friday shoppers and a live look at parade preps in new york city for the thanksgiving morning and macy's thanksgiving day parade. what is your forecast going to be like close to home? let's ask meteorologist justin berk. >> morning daylight and winds are light and the sun be bright. we have near freezing conditions right now on to the highlight three locations for a lot of people getting out. turkey trots bel air 32 and it's p 3 -- 33 in towson and

bakery. >> reporter: and your apron says continue the legacy of bea gaddy. how important is it to continue the legacy of hers? >> right now it's very important and it's a important time for my family and this statement says a lot. it means a lot to us today. >> reporter: what's going on behind us? you have volunteers back this way if we can pan over. they are putting up a tent. what's that for? >> that's where you will have bea gaddy fashions. you will come and get coats, clothes, gloves and anything you need today. >> reporter: anything you need you can come and get it. >> yes. >> reporter: for your kids. >> yes. we have a children's department a woman's department and it's going to be bea gaddy's right here. >> reporter: that's a great thing i can't imagine any other way to spend your thanksgiving but helping people in need. and you said you will have 50,000 plates go out today? >> yes, we will. >> reporter: where are they going. >> across the city harford county and anne arundel county and all throughout baltimore city. >> reporter: throughout baltimore city. so the dinner gets underway at 11 a.m. and goes until 2 p.m. and expect thousands of people around the building to get a
